Join us for an artist reception featuring works by Mary Ann Casey. Reception held Thursday, October 13th, at Carneal Building, 5-7 pm. Family friendly event with activities for children as well. Mary Ann has curated over 30 pieces in this collection, it is sure to be a fantastic show.
Mary Ann Casey is a writer, painter, and sculptor from Auburn, Alabama. Born and raised in the deep South, Casey’s expressive, contemporary paintings are portrayed through a variety of media. Mary Ann relies on her faith and Southern roots for inspiration, and her belief in the importance of family and faith are themes that run throughout her work which has been displayed throughout the South, including the Wiregrass Art Museum in Dothan, AL, the Johnson Center for the Arts in Troy, AL, and the African American Museum in Dallas, TX.
Casey hopes that the paintings in this collection “become a collaboration between me and my viewers…I surrender my spirit to a sense of energy, love, oneness, hope and peace.”

Alabama’s most famous ghost town is rarely open to nighttime visitors, but on Saturday October 15th and 22th, a few lucky people will experience Old Cahawba after dark. Reserve one of a limited number of tickets, and you will be transported to Cahawba’s most haunted locations where authentic historical accounts of ghosts attached to each place will be shared. Then the Webb Paranormal Research group will step in with their ghost hunting equipment so you can participate in a mini investigation.
As a special treat, Selma’s own Tally Ho Street Kitchen will be here so you can purchase delicious food before or after the tour. Then relax at a bonfire while you talk about your ghostly experiences with other participants.
Seats for this 90-minute tour and investigation are limited and advance tickets are required. This is a deluxe wagon tour, but some walking is necessary. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Tour Times: 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 & 9:00 p.m.
Fees: $20 per person
