Ø The King Center is accepting Nominations and Applications for our Summer Youth Leadership Academy
June 17-28-The Leadership Academy is designed to develop leaders who have the skills to positively influence and impact themselves, their peers and their communities using the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The intense two week on campus experience prepares youth, ages 13 – 18, to be influential leaders and change agents for their schools, communities and the world. The two week camp includes: A Civil Rights tour of Alabama, Small group facilitation, Interactive modules , Learn to code, Create nonviolent video games & apps, Produce short films and music videos, Learn to utilize Dr. King's principles to combat bullying and a 12 month follow-up plan with monthly in-person and virtual meetings. The Leadership Academy fee is $350. Farmers Market Season
The Dallas County Farmers’ Market will officially be opened for its 2019 season beginning on Saturday, June 1, 2019. The market will be opened on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Saturday’s beginning June 1 – November 15, 2019, from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. or until the last vendor sells out.
