Civil War Walking Tour of Old Cahawba
Saturday, April 4, 2020 10am – 11am
This guided tour will immerse visitors in the history of Castle Morgan, the POW camp at Old Cahawba, and explore the plight of these unfortunate soldiers as well as the hardships of the town’s Confederate residents who suffered while their husbands, fathers and sons were off to war, many never to return. ($8)

P. O.W. Memorial Service at Old Cahawba
Saturday, April 4, 2020 10am – 11am
Please join us for this ceremony as we pay our respects to the prisoners of war who lost their lives during the Civil War. The ceremony will feature reenactors in period dress reading authentic letters written by Cahawba’s P.O.W.s
A wreath will be laid upon the grave of the unknown soldier, hymns from that era will be sung, and salutes will be fired. (Free)
