Road to Freedom Wagon Tour
Saturday, February 1, 2020 10am - 11am
Lest we forget: one hundred years BEFORE the 1965 Voting Rights March focused on the Dallas county courthouse in nearby Selma, a brave community of recenently emancipated African-Americans gathered around an older courthouse in Cahawba. This wagon tour tells the story of Cahawba’s African-American majority and traces their path from slavery to freedom with a special emphasis on how they reshaped Cahawba as they pursued their dreams of equality. ($10 Adult, $8 Child)
Guided tours for the morning may be requested on other days a minimum of two weeks before your requested date. We offer wagon tours, walking tours, and step-on bus guides. For more information, call 334-872-8058 or visit the park at 9518 Cahaba Rd, Orrville, AL 36767.
